Trend-setting in intermodal transport

The last decade Meulenberg Transport has had a succession of milestones. The year 2000 saw the official opening of a new industrial premises, followed one year later by the company’s 80th anniversary. It is a special milestone since we are still a totally independent family company - a situation in which we take pride.

At the end of the year 2003 we celebrated the opening of our new 3.300 square-metre warehouse. This enables us not only to expand our logistical services with warehousing, but we also see this as an important milestone. In 2004 we started a cooperation with Wessem Port Services which resulted in a new company named Container Terminal Stein (CTS). This complied with our best wishes of participating in an own trimodal containerterminal in the harbour of Stein which is now meetingpoint for rail, water and road. In 2011 CTS started a cooperation with Gobo International which resulted in Railport Lanaken BVBA, a company that operates the Albertterminal Lanaken. Meulenberg Transport again expands its intermodal activities to seaports and European destinations.

2011 is also the year in which the company’s 90 th anniversary is celebrated. It is a special milestone because we are still a totally independent company - a situation in which we take pride. In order to give you a better view of Meulenberg Transport and Meulenberg Warehousing, we created this internetsite, in which you can read more about the company’s history, our package of services and our vision for the future. The focal point is our speciality as an intermodal haulier – combined transport by road, water and rail. Our aim is to expand this speciality even further.

There is good reason why one of out largest clients call us “Trendsetting in intermodal transport”.
To live up to that image, we have to stay on the move!
